If you’re a lifter, few things feel as good as a stellar workout. You know, the training sessions where you set a new one-rep max or your form clicks during sets of sumo deadlifts. If you’re French powerlifter Panagiotis Tarinidis, a solid workout may be defined as lifting 20 kilograms over the world record total in your weight class.
On April 19, 2021, the 66-kilogram (145-pound) powerlifter posted a video to Instagram of himself maxing out his deadlift, back squat, and bench press. Tarinidis racked up a total of 725 kilograms (1,598 pounds) for an unofficial world record.
