I bet you thought I was going to say “Post-Meet Blues”. Those are 100% real but sometimes they manifest differently.
I’ve talked about it before, but post-meet prep had me in a serious down. As some of you know, I deal with anxiety and depression. It happens mostly under stress and sometimes just out of nowhere. I don’t take medication for it, although I have gone to therapy. A good routine and schedule help me tremendously so after a meet since training tends to not be as important anymore, I find myself in a slump. Being there too long leads to negative talk and feelings of unworthiness.
